Real "Super" heroes

The concept of "super" heroes in real life is brilliant. The story unfolds with the sudden birth of Samuel Jackson's character and with an unusual circumstance. We're immediately thrust into a story of un-imaginable realism and suspense. From then on we're in constant attention to uncover the truth along with Bruce Willis who plays opposite from Jackson.. literally. Supberb story with the director's signature twist and stretch of reality.

Samuel L. Jackson & Bruce Willis both gave powerhouse performances. Esp. Jackson...this film was a milestone in his career. I would say it's his best performance ever. This and his performance in 'The Red Violin' both deserve, at least, Academy award nominations!
Although this film lacks the power-punch it should have had, it still is a very powerful film with unforgetable characters and flawless acting.
The director is not one of my favorites and i thought his work in 'Signs' was horrible but, this film stands out. For anyone to not give this film at least 4 stars has no business rating movies!

Willis and Jackson are SENSATIONAL, as always. Penn is ms.cast. Whatshisname was forgetable as Willis' son. 30 more minutes might solve severe script and editing problems.

This in my eyes was an excellent movie. The casting was wonderful and couldn't have been better. The movie has a great plot, and neat story build up and characters. Story was very nice and engrossing.The only thing bad that I could point out is that it needed more action, and some of the ending sequence should have been left in that wasn't included in the bonus disc.
Sound: Was a mixture classical and strong beat. Had tastes of saddness and gloom.Sound score was excellent, couldn't have been better.
Picture: Was excellent and the use of dull and vibrant colors and certain moments were properly used.

whoever's rating this movie below 4 stars is a total moron. THis movie starts off interesting, and the part where he finds out his powers is the part the movie gets hot. And the ending, well, you will see how the end is...heheh

Bruce Willis and Samuel Jackson!!! More of a realalistic hero our current century, where maybe disease or cellular mutation creates a superhero or villian more human than superhero (XMEN). What's awesome is the suprizing ending that makes this movie. When people refer to the sixth sence movie, they refer to "a surprized ending" and not the type of movie "supernatural".

It is hard to compare this film to 'The Sixth Sense' (only stylistic similarities exist), but it surely deserves greater attention. Unless you are a 'comicphile' you may begin to wonder where the comic book connection lies, until close to the end. I found myself in awe of the director's skill. "Atmosphere" and "Inventiveness" are the words. S.L.J. also demonstrated his.

I would actually give it closer to four stars but I feel it is necessary to boast the average seeing as so many people have given it unfair ratings. And hey, why is it that people sat that movies are great and give them one star or leave it unrated? You should see it at least once.

Dark and slightly otherworldly, Unbreakable is exaclty what it's supposed to be....A live action comic book. Bruce Willis as an everyman suddenly faced with the knowledge that he is something else is almost a new twist on the classic Superman legend.
This is, in comics parlance, an origin story. The movie gives the viewer a taste of whats to come either as a sequel or perhaps an in print comic. In many ways I felt that this film payed homage to the works of writers and artists like Frank Miller and Alex Ross. Artists that put a little darkness and rougher edge in the comic realm.
All in all, one of the best movies I have had the pleasure of seeing.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoIs that all?

Unbreakable is a rare movie in which you feel that you are connected with the characters and the entire atmosphere they live in.As with the sixth sense, the movie is not what you expect it to be. Great acting by Bruce willis, and Samuel l Jackson. I loved it.

Don't you need action to break something? No action, nothing gets broken..... anyways... slow, slow, slow..... They spent too much time writing the ending, trying to be cute with the "6th Sense type twist" at the end, that they forgot to write a story. They must have wrote it backwards or something. The only only action is when Bruce is getting a piggy-back ride by the killer, and bashed into the wall, but, manages to strangle him like a b.itch..... no punches pulled in this one.

I thought unbreakable was a truely great movie, the only problem I had with it is that I was once again disappointed to see all the deleated scenes in the bonus material section of this DVD. I personally have no problem watching a long movie and regret hollywood's notion that they always have to delete these sceans to keep movies shorter. Unbreakable would have been a lot more enjoyable (not to mention only about ten minutes longer) had they left these scenes in.....

I fight with my friends all the time over the greatness of this movie, because either you hated it or you loved it. I loved it. Love is a strong word but Unbreakable kept up with my expectations. Bruce Willis is a true super hero in this film, and Sam Jackson is the true super villian. These movie didn't fit in to the super hero genre like Batman and X-men. It well built up it's characters so you liked both of them. It didn't tell you who to root for. It gave you both there sides and asked you to choose for yourself. I think the batman series can take a que from this movie on how to make a likeable, non-cardboard superhero. These are real people with real lifes who find there places in the world, through either bad or good.

The Director of this movie blew it big time. Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie, but I felt there was something missing after I finished watching the movie. I noticed the DVD had a supplementary section that included scenes that were cut from the movie. Atleast 4 to 5 of those cut scenes should have been in the movie. The Director himself was the one who chose to cut these seens. What an Idiot. There were some intense scenes that were cut and a funny one that would have made you actually feel something while watching this movie. The cut scenes show you Jacksons character as a young child. The scene is set at the Carnival. He sneaks away from his mother and gets on a Carnival ride... A different scene shows Willis actually losing it emotionally after he gets out of the hospital. There is also a scene that shows Willis' kid in the hospital and the emotional trauma he went through thinking his father was dead.

The movie concluded when they sent the bad/black Samuel Jackson to jail while the good/white Bruce Willis would stay around to help the world. The world can't be just all good. There must be mixtures of bad white good black good white bad black.
A happiest ending should be that Bruce Willis marrying Samuel Jackson if same sex marriage is legal; or they can live in the same household so they can be each other's guardian happily ever after.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoUnbeliveable
I must say that I was glad that this movie didn't have the same box office success as the Sixth Sense because history would have repeated itself for some ignorant individual would have prided themselves that they supprised at this films ending and then they would go into detail on how the movie ended.
The popular complaint with this movie was that the paceing was just a bit slower that what us as a movie going society is used to and i must agree that the movie convays a certain scene for longer than what should have. But to say the truth such incedences are more of a mixed blessing than a negative factor.
Everything else about the DVD package is great.From the actualy movie to the deleated scenes to even the FBI piracy warning, it's all above what other DVD movies provied.
As far as the actual movie goes,I felt that it was better than the sixth sense. The Acting was great,the only people i knew were Bruce Willis and Mr. Samual L. Jackson, and all of them did an outstanding job.
Come for the Surprise Ending, Stay for the superb acting, Leave your house when you feel the best way to spend your time is to watch the documenteries. Belive me, you dont want to get me started on stupid"Making of..." documentaries.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoWOW

Dumb movie. Bruce Willis finds out he's a super hero and Sam jackson is really a bad comic strip villain. He caused the train to crash, the plane to crash, the hotel to go on fire. There! Now you know how it ends!!
