Tyran Carlo
Tyran Carlo -- the writing name of Roquel "Billy" Davis -- was half of a Detroit songwriting team with Berry Gordy, before Gordy founded Motown Records. When Carlo's cousin, the incredible singer Jackie Wilson, left the Dominoes and went solo, Carlo Gordy penned Wilson's first several hits, including "Reet Petite," "To Be Loved," "Lonely Teardrops," and "I'll Be Satisfied," all singles in the late '50s.
