Charlie Sheen takes a starring role in TWO AND A HALF MEN, a genial CBS comedy about a dysfunctional family. Sheen plays Charlie Harper, who enjoys the bachelor life in his Malibu beach house. His existence consists of an endless stream of partying and dating until his brother, Alan (Jon Cryer), moves in with him. Alan's life has fallen apart after a separation from his wife, but he still has custody of his 10-year-old son, Jake (Angus T. Jones), who also moves into Charlie's Malibu home. Supporting characters include Alan's ex-wife, and Charlie and Alan's overbearing mother. The makeshift family formed by Charlie, Alan, and Jake provides plenty of laughs and a few poignant moments in this complete first season of episodes.

    'Men' This Generation's Odd Couple

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 12, 2007

Pros: Every episode of the first season is presented in this box set.

    Cons: Aside from the "behind-the-scenes&q
uot; feature, there are no real bonus features to speak of.

Two and A Half Men is this generation's Odd Couple. The baby boomer generation had Felix and Oscar. This generation has Charlie and Allan. The one thing that sets the two pairs apart is that with Two and a Half Men, there is another half a man in... Allan's son, Jake. Jake, along with the rest of the cast of this outstanding comedy combine to make a show that audiences needed then, and need now. It is a welcome escape from the seemingly unending barrage of game shows and "reality" television that has gotten increasingly unintelligent and uncreative with each year's passing. John Cryer plays a delightfully neurotic character in Allan to Charlie Sheen's....well....Ch
    arlie (how "creative"--not
e the sarcasm). It is no wonder that this show has received all of the awards, which it has earned. There are enough moments throughout each episode to keep audiences laughing, regardless of whether the laughter is a real audience or not--does anyone ever wonder how many of the laughs in sitcoms are just laugh tracks? This is not a stab at Two and A Half Men by any means. It's a great show. It's just a random sidebar to think about. So for all the fans out there, don't get angry at that comment. But back to the subject. There are plenty of enjoyable episodes in Season 1 of this wonderful comedy. Among them are the likes of: "Twenty-Five Little Pre-Pubers Without A Snootful", "I Can't Afford Hyenas", "An Old Flame With A New Wick", and "Just Like Buffalo." In an age when terrorism and writers strikes are doing nothing to help the tv and movie industry, fans of this standout show at least have this season to watch whenever they want for the time being. To make things better, Season 2 is due out in early January 2008. Or, if fans have time, the show now comes on five days a week in syndication, nationwide. So, one way or another, fans of Two and A Half Men have plenty of opportunities to laugh again and again.
