Two Kings in a Cipher -- a duo that consisted of D.O.P. (born Deric Angelettie) and the Noble Ahmen-Ra (born Ron Lawrence) -- was one of the many Afrocentric rap groups who came out from the East Coast during the early '90s. From Pyramids to Projects, their debut album for RCA subsidiary Bahia, came out in 1991. Despite the album's failure to make much of an impact, Angelettie and Lawrence went on to extremely successful production careers. They worked together and separately, scoring credits on records by the likes of Puff Daddy, Faith Evans, Mary J. Blige, LL Cool J, the Notorious B.I.G., and Mase.
