Pros: I enjoyed listening to the cd.

Cons: where can i get it.

I could listen to him all day long. What I want to know is who is he? And have I heard him before?

THIS BRITISH JAZZ SENSATION IS SMOKIN !

    By Jennifer  Dec 6, 2005

Pros: Best Jazz / Pop Recording Up To Date

Cons: A Must Have For Your Jazz Collection

After listening to jazz pianists such as Ramsey Lewis, Diana Krall & Joe Sample, this British jazz sensation really blew me away with his unique voice and killer jazz piano licks. As a former jazz crooner now turned Country / Pop / Rock/ Soul vocalis...t in a party band from Texas, I've added this killer CD recording to my jazz collection and played the heck out of it. Check out his smokin' arrangement of " I Get A Kick Out Of You ", which is killer and his funky take on " I Could Have Danced All Night " which features some really killer vibrato guitar lines and an awesome string arrangement. His version of " The Wind Cries Mary " is jazzy and soulful and takes Jimi Hendrix to places he never dreamed of. The horn arrangement is really tight on that one too. The title cut is killer and the horn and scat licks are just amazing and it really takes me back to my scat singing days. " All At Sea " is a really cool song to listen to as well. " Next Year Baby " is another mindblower of a song to listen to and it has a jazzy latin jam towards the end. His contemporary smooth jazz arrangement of " Singin' In The Rain " reminds me of something that should have been on a Stevie Wonder album, yet the arrangements are like a summer breeze. This album is truly one of the best jazzy materpieces I've ever heard from this young jazz cat and is a must have to your jazz collection. Jamie Cullum is one of the best newcomers on the jazz scene ! Read more Less

i love this cd. i love how jamie puts some of his own songs on there and mixes it up with some cover songs. his voice sounds awesome and you can really feel his emotions when he sings, on such songs like "love you should've come over" a... cover song by jeff buckley. everyone, no matter what your age or favorite music genre, should own this album! Play that funky music, white boy!!!

    By amanda  Oct 22, 2004

Pros: It's full of fresh and vibrant sound

Cons: It ends :_( at track 15

This album just plain rocks!!! Jamie Cullum is an amazingly talented individual and this album gives the listener a taste of what this guy has to offer. It's jazz, just shaken up a bit. The lyrics are clever, very tongue in cheek; the music is wo...nderful and Jamie Cullum's velvety voice is the icing on the cake! He revives a few standards, jazzes up a few modern tunes, and throws in some original songs as well. I can't say enough about how great this album is. My advice to you is ... Buy it. Play it. Love It. Read more Less

ore interesting than the usual jazz/pop crossover

    By HillaryB  Oct 21, 2004

    Pros: Wonderfully versatile music

Cons: Pop/Rock songs may drive purists nuts

You really have to see Jamie Cullum live to get the full effect, but this CD is a great listen! He's got the chops for straight ahead jazz and the ingenuity to turn "I Could Have Danced All Night" into a rave anthem. And there's som...e fine original songs too. All at Sea is pretty and Twentysomething will probably speak to everyone who's going through post-college doubt. Read more Less
