Not Jane's Addiction But still good.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 20, 2001

This album took a while to make but it was worth it. It might not be Jane's Addiction but it has some good songs here."Rexall" and "Hungry" are great songs that have a good pop touch to it. "Avoiding The Angel" has a great light sound to it. It's ...good to see that Dave has made great music since Jane's spliting. Read more Less

    Ra Ra Rasputin Indeed

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 17, 2001

Yeah, although I didn't care much for this album, Dave is getting 2 stars for it just because there is much much much worse music playing on the radio right now. The Velvet Underground cover offended me: is was unimaginitively tortured into a shamefu...l parody of its former self. I know whiny music is popular now but there is so much better whiny music out there. Listen to VAST or toss that old Smashing Pumpkins CD in... Read more Less

    Dave Navarro's Trust No One

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 6, 2001

Not your typical cd in a sense, very much rooted in the Janes style , not at all like the Chili Peppers, to which he never really fit in. Great solo effort, great all around sound, innovative style that has been duplicated so many times, one of the or...iginals of the unique sound and style of a rising talent left unforseen. New Dave Navarro fan here

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 5, 2001

This album rocks! All you people who think it sux need to learn what REAL music is. Just because he isnt rapping with heavy guitars(limp bizkit) doesnt mean it isnt good. This album shows musical intelligence which most new bands now do not have. ... If you are reading this and want to hear good real music that is unique, go buy this album. Read more Less

    Not bad

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 11, 2001

Apparently Dave Navarro is a fan of industrial music. This album is peppered with the samples and sounds of bands like NIN and Filter. The music is excellent, the lyrics are a little bland at times. Not a bad start to a solo career, but with plent...y of room to improve, particularly in the lyrics. Read more Less

Pretty darn good for a first solo album!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 29, 2001

Finally, Dave broke free from being just a part of a whole. He was incredible w/ Jane's Addiction (See the Soul Kiss video), and he suffered along w/ the Chilli Peppers (not a good match), but now he stands to be the best breakaway artist since Dave ...Grohl. The songs sound a wee bit trite at first, kind of like the generic-rock being put forth by MTV, but there are tons of little textures in there that make it so much more! (Starting w/ the use of a sampler in ways that actually work!) The lyrics are really bizarre, and not in a good way, but his voice is surprisingly polished for a first attempt. I really hope he continues to record. I also hope he does a tour for this album. Read more Less

    What a bore

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 28, 2001

Overproduced, self absorbed crap. If he feels that bad about himself, why doesn't he do us all a favor and suck a 45?
