Pros: Appeals to basic fears!
Cons: will STILL scare little kids!
I remember this flick like it was yesterday; a classic! That was just downright scary! I was a teen when I saw this. I'm surprised that someone hasn't effectively remade it by now. A top of the line scare for the era it was in!
Right after this aired, my brother went to the bathroom, and I waited for him outside the door on my knees. The moment he came out, I grabbed his ankles and went into my "He Who Kills" doll scream -- he almost passed out from fright! He said, "Maaaan, you almost scared me TO DEATH!" (And he looked like it, too!) That was absolutely the best laugh I'd had in a long while!
Pros: CREEPY MUSIC, VOODOO DOLLS, AWESOME!
Cons: TOO SHORT
KAREN IS AWESOME SHE HAS THE LOOK IN THE EYE TO SCARE U. TRUE HORROR CLASSIC!
Pros: Doll
Cons: Lighting in the movie
I have no idea where my parents were, but when I was like 9 I got my hands on this movie. It haunted me forever.
Isn't it interesting how nowadays, we censor what our children watch?
Thank God.
Pros: Karen Black
Cons: nada
I was absolutely horrified when i was a kid and i watch this movie, i had nightmares for years after watching it, but i love the movie and its all because of that damn zuni warrior doll "gone wild"!
So frigin' scary that I can no long correctly spell utlimate...
Who can forget that doll chasing that woman. It funny how only one story out of three really sticks in your memories. Great for any DVD horror collection.
This made-for-television movie consists of three short mini-stories. The one everyone remembers is the last one in which 'Amelia" as played by the incredible Karen Black is chased throughout her apartment by a small Zuni Fetish doll which comes to life and is intent on killing her! We loved this film back then and still think it is effective - obviously the special effects are much more sophisticated in today's films but the acting by Karen Black and the atmosphere in this movie more than compensates. Scarey!!!!!!!!
This movie did not get better with time. When I
first saw this movie I was nine years old and let me
tell you it was the scariest thing I had ever seen. I
recently found a place that was selling this movie and I
had to buy it. Well I did not remember the other
parts of the movie. The only thing that stuck in my
mind was that doll. Black give a wonderful performance
as a multi personality and as a man crazed serial
killer but... I was not afraid of the doll. I know you
were young and everything scared you. But some good
scares endure the years ie:Night of the Living Dead,
Evil Dead you get the picture.
All in all a
great movie. Its the type of movie that you watch with
a group of friends that have not seen
it.
It's a classic
