With traditionalism in vogue in many aspects of life, there's certainly an opening for an album of wedding music that sticks to the classics of the genre and doesn't attempt to mix them in with R. Kelly, Roger Whittaker, or what have you. Unfortunately, Traditional Wedding Music doesn't really fill the void. For one thing, it clocks in at just over 40 minutes long, with just 10 tracks. Wouldn't want to give those brides a good choice of music to help them put together their perfect day, now would we? The really famous pieces of wedding music (the "Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin, the Mendelssohn "Wedding March") are included, but a wedding tends to require a number of different pieces of music at different junctures, and here the pickings are slim. Sound quality is poor throughout; the disc consists of badly remastered old performances from a variety of sources.
