    Matthew Ward - Toward Eternity

Pros: Groundbreaking record, ahead of it's time

Cons: It's out of print and difficult to find

This record was a catalyst that launched Christian music into a new era. Way ahead of it's time, it features songs written by people who would change the face of Christian over the next decate, and whose influence, two generations later, is still... reflected in Christian music today. Artists featured in the project are the likes of (the late) Keith Green, Phil Keaggy, and Michael Omartian, with additional players like Jay Graydon, Ray Parker, Jr., Abraham Laboriel, Michael Baird, and the list goes on. Background vocals by Annie Herring, Matthew's sister and co-member of 2nd Chapter of Acts with Matthew and 2nd sister Nellie, provide a blend that must be heard to be believed. When you factor in Matthew's rare and unique vocal style, this record is just as pertinent today as it was the day it was released. And even though the styles have changed since the album's original release in 1979 (it was re-released in 1989), the music itself is timeless. This is an album for those who love music, as well as for those who love our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It just so happens that I am BOTH! David in Tulsa, OK Read more Less

Pros: One of the greatest christian or secular albums EVER!!!

    Cons: none

I've listened to everything in my 32 years...EVERYTHING. This was the first album I ever heard at the age of 4. My dad used to play it all the time while living in Georgia. I was mesmerized. These songs stick with you like a first kiss, or one...9;s first true love. It's truly one of musics unblemished gems. Where can I find it!!! Read more Less
