| EXPERT RATING: From AMG Reviews This album shows that previous reports about the appeal of The Bulgarian Women's Choir may have actually downplayed their brilliance. This chorus sounds glorious in its harmonies and is much more improvisational and energetic than it would seem from the pastoral, genteel photos depicting the group on the CD cover. There are songs with trills, percussive chants and shouts, as well as sweeping group exchanges and exciting leads. The 22 numbers are done in their native language, but linguistic differences shouldn't put any one off.
