Pros: Excellent Speed, Nice Keyboard, Amazing Sound and above all Excellent Screen.

Cons: Little Heavy than 17 Inch iBook.

I have been usin laptops for the last Six years. This has been the BEST That I have got till now. Has used COmpaq, IBM, Dell...But, this one is fffffaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrr

This laptop made me surprised. Really. it's more than what a desktop can be. Just imagine, 60Ghz of storage, DVD-RW, pentium 4 2,8Ghz. It's not a laptop but some kind of a monster.

This computer is really bad. I was so excited when I bought this computer because it was my first notebook and it was 17 inches. I've been through hell and back I can tell you that. I wasnt going to write a review on this until tonight...my cdrom multi drive died again. First one died 3 weeks after I had the computer brand new, it took toshiba in toronto 6 weeks to get me a new one which is rediculous, then they sent me the wrong cd rom drive (clearly didn't fit into my computer) so I called them to tell them that they sent me the wrong one and they called me a liar and told me many times that I was wrong and that they had sent me the right rom and that I wasnt a computer tec and that wouldnt know if it was the right one or not and then they hung up on me. SO tonight (Aug. 25th) 2 weeks after getting the cdrom that fits, the new one stopped working today so now im really mad because i have to send the whole computer back to toronto again.

Their customer service is very bad also. I called them weeks ago to tell them that my first cd rom didnt work and they said ok fed ex it to us in Toronto (I dont live in Toronto or anywhere close to there) and we'll have it back to you in a few days and I said great. SO I sent it and a week went buy and I didn't hear from them or got my computer back in the mail. So I called toshiba and asked them what the deal was and they said they would have to keep it for 4 weeks until they got the "part" in from asia. I said that's rediculous and your customer service sucks. So 1 week later I get the computer back without a cd rom in it because i told them i was paying for the internet and want my computer back and to mail me the cd rom. SO then they made me sign a "waiver" saying that if I damage the cd rom in anyway "installing" it then it's not their proboem. Installing what? All you do is push it in. So anyways I get the rom that doesnt fit 5 weeks later, call them do a bunch of yelling because now im pissed that I waited 5 weeks without a rom and they send me one that doesnt even come close to being a match for my computer. So then 2 weeks ago the new one came and it worked and fit and now today the new cd rom say i/o device error again so now i have to go through the whole thing again. I wrote the president of toshiba in the US and the BBB in Canada to tell them that im never buying a toshiba product again and why.

Pros: fast,clear,stylish and great sound"

Cons: extra wide and heavy

This is a "great carry with you" replacement for a desktop (better than most). The quality and funtions are excellent,can't wait to try the wireless.Even has extra mod. bay for expansion It's a little heavy, but it's worth it. I'm giving the desktop to the kids, won't be using that anymore.

Cons: heavy and large size makes finding a case hard

I did not buy this as a laptop, it is a portable computer. It is simply to big to be a laptop but for a portable computer you can take it anyware and have all the power of a desktop computer. I was either going upgrade my desktop or get a portable. everything has its trade offs, it you want a highly portable light laptop you have to be ready to give up on some things. I decided to get a high power PDA and and portable computer. I have owned four Toshiba laptops, never a need for tech support and very solid.

Purchased as a replacement for a problem laced year old compaq. This laptop has a lot pros but a few cons as well. The pros include a 17" widescreen display powered by an NVidia chip set. The display is very rich, and as a gamer this laptop provides good frame rates. The sound produced by the Harmon Kardon Speakers with a volume control that is on the left side of the laptop provides crisp, clear music and movie sounds and the volume control that is manually controlled made points with me. However at 8+ pounds it is a beast to lug around. Beware this is a power hungry laptop. If you plan on using this in a vehicle, I had a 75 watt APC DC to AC power inverter for the compaq. This could not provide the power necessary to run if the battery was drained. I ended up replacing the 75 Watt with a 400 Watt inverter. Battery life with two UPS devices plugged in, was a respectable 2.5 hrs. If you look past the weight, this Toshiba is worth taking a look at.

I just got this laptop 2 days ago and survived all the "torture" that i gave to it. it fast and screen is huge. Only thing i dont like about this computer is i cannot find the bag which can fit in nicely... other than that its dream come true.

JUST AMAZING............I HAD TO RETURN MY NEW DELL BECAUSE THEY DECEIVED ME WITH AN INFERIOR LAPTOP THAT HAD A DEFECTIVE SCREEN ..THEY SAID THERE WAS A SHORTAGE OF SCREENS DUE TO THE SARS VIRUS LAYOFFS IN ASIA .. THE LAPTOP WAS SO BAD I COULD NOT READ SMALL PRINT .....THE IMAGES WERE FUZZY......NOW I GOT A NEW TOSHBA TO REPLACE MY 4 YR OLD TOSHIBA LAPTOP AND IT'S UNBELIEVABLY BEAUTIFUL.. ITS THE ---507...17 INCH ..60 GIG...2.8 GHZ....512MG RAM....JUST BRILLIANT CLEAR WORDS PICTURES GRAPHS EVEN ON BLACK SCREEN THERE IS NO LOSS OF WORD CLARITY. ...IT COST 1899.50 AT BEST BUY WITH SALE REBATES....WOW !!!!!!!!!
