Pros: Crisp video, easy controls, great functions

    Cons: Weight, body design

Overall a great product. The screen is clean and crisp and media advantages make this a top line product to own and enjoy. Once you learn the methods (of which there are many) of use for the media center, you can sit back and enjoy wireless access ...to everything your computer has to offer from basic net access to high end media editing. Combined with state of the art compatability with your big screen LCD, computing will never be the same. A major point of contention though is the sheer number of processes that are started on boot up. Between Toshiba extras and Microsoft's nightmarish "requirements" to run what used to be simple programs, it can be slow to boot up and load times can be tiresome. I found though that with some perserverance, many of these options can be turned off in the system manager, and better yet, if you can live without IE and Outlook, you might be better off because speed increases by a third. However, Microsoft found a way to force your hand - you cannot run the tuner and other media programs without Microsoft's idiot messenger! After allowing a friend to use the system for a few days, the system "acquired" a bug that killed many applications uses, but the easy to use recovery system made reloading an easy task, and for most users this would be a welcome change in a virtual world filled with the dangers of viruses and other computing meanies. It is a bit awkward in design (too many edges) and due to it's weight, you will definitely want a carrying case of some type. The switch to turn wireless access on/off is archaic in design and location, but most ports are easy to access. If you want a computer that will last a long time, has great programs and is extremely media friendly, then you won't go wrong here. Yes, it is a bit overpriced, but sometimes you have to pay more for a product that above par with the rest. With easy to use controls, great potential for upgrade and great reliability (so far) I would recommend this laptop for anyone regardless of intended use. Read more Less

    G-35

Pros: Great as a portable desktop even though its weighty

    Cons: power hungry

Toshiba offered this product to me as a free replacement for my G-25. I did not request a replacement but was offered the G-35. The only real problem I have is with battery life. It is power hungry and the AC adapter must go where it goes.
