    Way Better Picture Than Sony's Blu-Ray

    Pros: Awesome picture on HD-DVDs , Beautiful Design, upscales Standard dvds to near hd quality, Three free HD DVDs when you buy this player. Awesome HD titles.

    Cons: Takes a while to boot up even if you only want to take out a disk. Sound could be better.

    After spending weeks researching the war between Blu-ray vs. HD-DVD, I decided to give Blu-ray a shot. What a mistake that was. I have a 1080p tv, and standard dvds look horrible. Blu-ray discs look alrite. Being a videophile, I decided to take it ba...ck and get a Toshiba HDA2. To my surprise, the picture was better than the blu-ray. I have a 2m monster HDMI cable (800 series) and let me tell you, the picture is amazing. I watched Troy, Charlie and the chocolate Factory, casablanca, and batman begins, and the picture is awesome. The only downside to this player is the sound. I have an onkyo HTIB (HTS790) and it didnt sound the way i wanted it to, but it still gave a pretty impressive feeling of experienceship. Overall i say if you're debating between blu-ray and hd-dvd, go with hd-dvd, its cheaper and the picture quality is better. Read more Less
