    Excellent all-around player

Pros: sound quality, design, easy to use

Cons: battery life, slow to connect with computer

I had a Creative Zen Vision: M for a couple week before I returned it and purchased a Gigabeat. My zen stopped communicating with my lap-top after a short period of time and none of the help tutorials on the Creative site or other message boards sol...ved this problem. This is a somewhat common issue with the Zen. I have been extremely happy with my Gigabeat however. I have had no connectivity issues with Windows Media Player 11, however it does seem to communicate slower than the Zen. The controls are much easier to use on the Gigabeat than on the Zen with seemed to have very stiff control buttons. Windows Portable Media Center is also extremely easy to navigate through on the Gigabeat. Dedicated volume, skip, and play/pause buttons are also extremely handy. They don't seem like something that would matter but they are a nice feature. The display is very nice on the Gigabeat and looks about the same as the Zen. My only complaint is the lack of a built in recording device on the Gigabeat; a feature that is present on the Zen. An FM radio is still present though and is very nice to have for baseball games, music, etcetera. Battery life is a dissapointing 12 hours however. The Zen has a battery life of 14 hours, but is also bulkier and doesn't fit in a pocket as nicely. Overall, an excellent player that I would highly reccomend to anyone, especially those who desire a high-quality sound to their music, or a least one better than the Zen/ipod. Read more Less

Pros: great sound, great look, great interface

Cons: few accessories, no custom equalizer

A great player, built very well with plenty of features. The player is small, light, and very sleek. I would suggest it to anyone.
