These are the hits, to the extent that gospel has hits. "Too Close to Heaven," the opener and title track, did sell a million copies in the mid-'50s, when not even many pop records did that. Other highlights: "He Lifted Me," "He Leads Me Surely Through," "Right Now," "Don't Let Satan Turn You 'Round," plus "He'll Wash You Whiter Than Snow," with the great Sallie Martin, and the previously unreleased "Move Upstairs," with the equally great Bessie Griffin. Plus four more outtakes. Very interesting liner notes but they spell out very few musical specifics.
