TOM TOM ONE GPS

Pros: My wife and myself both have the TOM TOM she has the more expensive version but that is because I bought it for her. She and I are both totally happy with this version. It is Compact and has great direction and easy operation access.No need for mapquest anymore, It is very easy to use and friendly. When I mess up using it I simply go to the back button and correct my mistakes, It picks up auto on locations when trying to program to a street which is handy and easy to choose from.
Cons: Again the 2 hour Battery Life.
It is a great GPS system and I have no reason to switch. We use this model in my Jeep. It is really easy to use and easily taken inside with me. It is smaller than mu wifes and I do like that because I drive a JEEP Wrangeler and it is perfect for the window in it. It is also great for back roading. It has a great device that lets you programm your own speed alerts and it lets you know to slow down. I also love the Voice Commands and they do not irritate you. I am really happy with the TOM TOM, they are the Motorola of Cell Phones!

Pros: pretty accurate maps
Cons: screen froze after 2 weeks
The maps are good and we liked some of the added features including the map of Canada. The bad part was, after only two weeks of owning it, my fiance hooked it up to the computer to do the upgrades it reminded him of, and after they finished the screen was frozen. It didn't matter if we left it on, shut it off, hooked up to the computer, etc.... Finally my fiance found an explanation online on how to fix it. Hopefully we don't have anymore problems-we really do like it other than that.....

I had a Garm, couldn't find anything out of cities, call support, told me thier GPS was for cities not in the country so I took it back to Walmart and bought a Tom and am happy with it.

Cons: Battery Life and Updates
The TomTom One is a simple, very easy to use GPS System and works right out of the box. The computerized voice is very clear and, with the volume control, can be heard over any conversations you may be having.
The main drawbacks are the short battery life which means you will have to find a place to mount it in your car that gives a non-obstructive view and that software & map updates aren't always available (sometimes unless you pay).

Pros: Voice technology, easy to see screen, accurate maps
Cons: no mp3, etc.
I have been using mine for about 3 months and love every aspect of it! We just took the first big family trip with it last week and it took us door to door to door in an unfamiliar location 100% correctly every time. Mine has never missed and I love the easily viewable screen, even in bright sunlight. The voice navigation is wonderful and it is full of features!

We drove from OK to CA over Christmas and the Tom Tom was the best thing I brought with us on the trip. This thing does it all. Town coming up and want to know what there is to eat or a place to sleep? Just touch and go... that easy. You can even plan out a trip befor you hit the road. List phone numbers so you can even call ahead. Toss the map and get a Tom Tom, you'll be glad you did.

I got this for christmas, i bought my wife a garmin c340 for christmas as well. I spend the same on hers as this cost. We took a drive to her parents approx. 80 miles away. A fairly straight forward drive. Arrival time on this was a full 1/2 hour later than hers. This kept telling me to turn around. At about half way there this finally got somewhat on track. I had previously set this up to avoid toll roads. At our exit the tomtom told me to go straight through the toll. the garmin took me the exact way that i had previously found to be fastest. Again the tomtom told me to turn around for another 5 minutes, untill we were on her parents street!! Throughout the trip the tomtom's maps were wrong, exits missing (the exit had been there since the highway was built) 10 year old roads missing. Telling me i'm driving through a field.
The other thing about the tomtom is that the windshild mount is extremely flimsy. While its never come off, it still feels like cheep plastic. It bounces on every little bump and I'm afraid it will come off one day.
The only thing i can say possitive about the tomtom is the amount of features. Addresses that aren't on the maps(most of the addresses that i drive to aren't on the map) can be entered as a point.
Overall I would not recomend this product to anyone. A poor attempt at a gps. Absolutly useless.Was this review helpful? Yes - No
