   1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this Tom Sawyer review helpful Weak attempt to remake a classic that falls short on several counts. The actors seem to be 'modern' for the time era depicted. The dialog has a modern ring to it, almost as though it was a tongue-in-cheek performance. The lines are delivered with a set cadence and without any spontaneity. The addition of a musical score detracts from the excitement of the events and the viewer is confused as whether to be uplifted, or tense and on the edge of his seat. The singing performaces of the actors are very weak and at times comical. At 1 hour and 45 min. in length, the movie is too long for kids or adults to sit through without losing interst. ...
