Splinter Cell: Double Agent takes the stealthbased series in a new direction after three successful covert operations on multiple platforms. After learning his teenage daughter was killed in a car crash, a despondent Sam Fisher is unable to complete his duties for the NSA's splinter cell, Third Echelon, and is reassigned as a NOC, a nonofficial cover agent who operates from within dangerous organizations. His mission is to infiltrate a domestic terrorist group called the John Brown's Army. For the first time in the series, Fisher cannot rely solely on his gadgets or the direct support of the NSA. He must instead fall back on his keen instincts to survive while working deep undercover.

Instead of advancing through linear missions across a series of international locales, players will experience a branching story line with multiple endings, where decisions made at one juncture will influence subsequent events as the game progresses. Fisher must initially earn the trust of the John Brown's Army to become a cardcarrying member, so he must engage in carefully orchestrated heists and even an elaborate prison break to get in the good graces of key contact Jamie Washington. If Fisher is successful in befriending Washington, he will be invited to the terrorist group's headquarters, a multifloor structure that serves as a jumping point for future missions.

From that point on, Fisher will be faced with multiple moral decisions as he walks a fine line between working with the JBA and on behalf of his NSA mentor, Irving Lambert. He will also be partnered with an AIcontrolled character in many of the missions, introducing a new element to the singleplayer game. Of course, Splinter Cell: Double Agent also features online support via Xbox Live, including cooperative play and the exclusive spies versus mercs mode with new moves, gadgets, and a revamped team ranking system. Both the Xbox 360 and PC versions also feature larger environments, interactive cutscenes, more onscreen characters, alternate missions, and enhanced graphics when compared to the Xbox and PlayStation 2 games. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

    Pros: EVERYTHING!!!

    Cons: NOTHING!!!

This is a game for those who take attention to detail, who have patience with a game, and who appreciate a masterpiece. This game is complete. The AI is mindblowing! In other games where the AI will never notice a difference in anything that changes ...in this game. If a light was turned off, they notice. If a TV volume is turned down, they notice. It's like they actually have a human mind. And the graphics make u feel like u r rite up in the action. Some game creators are lazy and dont put time and effort into every detail. Its the total opposite with this game. The creators took time and made every detail to perfection. The cut-scenes look like they were from real life. Heck, even the gameplay looks like real life. What is also cool about this game is that there are certain choices that you make in the game which will eventually have an outcome in the story-line. This entire game is 100% worth every dollar spent on it. I hear that there is going to be a movie coming out in 2010. I could be wrong, but either way, it would be awesome. This is, by far, the greatest series in gaming made. Read more Less
