Armed with only his acoustical guitar, "two bottles of liquor, (a) stormy weekend of Valentine's Day...and no ideas," singer/songwriter Todd Grant wrote a handful of gentle songs with a thick layer of melancholy. Added with a reflection of Lou Reed and Julian Cope, -ismist Records released Grant's one and only album, Strangled Soul, in the winter of 1995. Soon after its release, he moved from a solo career to front the band Compost.
