This movie is an excellent display of a her (Atticus) In action. Not the action we think of in most movies but the action that consists of everyones daily life. Atticus is one of the best men who ever has been in a movie, this movie portrays two vict...ims of the crule and unforgiving scioty a long time ago. The treatment which they recive is like on of us killing a mocking bird, a harmless bird that does nothing but sing its hear out for us every day. This is a golden movie and an ever better book. What I really appreciated about this movie was the justice it did to the book.It follow the book wonderfully and truthfully.I loved the story and how it was told through the eyes of a child.And the events of one summer that bring the kids closer to t...heir father.The lessons on life and how things are not always what they seem. I have my child reading book and I am also getting him the movie to see.I believe this movie not only has entertainment value but it also has something for people to think about. I watched this movie a few days ago and I must say this is a truly great piece of work,which(if you have never read the book) deserves a 5 star rating. But since it is tied to a book and is,frankly,missing too much from the book it can't get higher ...than a 4/5. Gregory Peck was great inthe movie,as one would expect,and Brock Peters(Star Trek IV,VI) was excelent as Tom Robinson,I liked Robert Duvall as Boo Radley, and it had a wellrounded cast. While its a great movie,there just isnt enough of the book in there to award a fantastic viewing,but its great nontheless. To Kill a Mockingbird looks at three diffrent views of the human race: the kind side, the prejudice side, and the simple view of an innocent child. This movie is more moving than any other movie involving a sensitive subject like the one in this mov...ie. It shows the bad side of man, and it shows the good side of man. The cast is wonderful, along with many other things in the movie. If you like the movie, I suggest you try reading the book. If you have read the book, then I HIGHLY reccomend getting the movie.
