Time Capsule is an excellent, 18track collection that offers a comprehensive overview of the B52's' career, from their kitschy postpunk beginnings to their unexpected chart success in the early '90s. Along the way, all the big songs "Planet Claire," "Rock Lobster," "Private Idaho," "Quiche Lorraine," "Summer of Love" (in its original mix), "Channel Z," "Deadbeat Club," "Love Shack," "Roam," "Good Stuff" are here, making this an ideal choice for casual fans. For collectors, there are two new cuts ("Debbie," "Hallucinating Pluto") which are fine, but not particularly noteworthy outside of the fact they're only available on this disc. Then again, the very idea behind Time Capsule is to provide a concise introduction for the curious, and on that level, it works perfectly.
