User Reviews: Tight Shoes/Girls to Chat & Boys to Bounce

  • Overall:

    Long-awaited CD release

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 21, 2003

Castle Records (of the UK) has put out the later 70's/early 80's Foghat albums on double-disc CDs. These are great deals for serious Foghat fans. This pair is great for any rockin' blues fan. TIGHT SHOES is the better of the two, featuring the incomp...arable musicianship of "Stranger In My Home Town" and the full-throttle "Loose Ends". From GIRLS TO CHAT, enjoy "Live Now Pay Later". Pro Reviews: Tight Shoes/Girls to Chat & Boys to Bounce

  • All Music Guide

Foghat limped into the eighties with their best days behind them. In an attempt at musical relevance, Foghat changed their sound somewhat, hoping that the burgeoning New Wave movement might be interested, to little avail. These experiments (Tight Shoes from 1980, and Girls to Chat Boys to Bounce from 1981) were combined on to a two compact disc set by the Essential label in 2000. Despite the label, this is less than essential.

Once punk and disco came along, the band's audience dipped dramati... Read more
