, November 23, 2001Reviewer: Daaaaaave! - See all Daaaaaave!'s reviewsIn the UK vinyl version that I have (bought in 1982 of course) there is a live version of "It/Watcher of the Skies" which really rocks, but is not on this CD. Is there another version of this compilation that has the whole album on it? -

brainchild87106 - See all brainchild87106's reviews Apparently the posers at Atlantic couldn't figure out that the album was called Three Sides Live because there were only three live sides with one side being the studio tracks. My advice, unless you want to smack down some money to buy their second archive, browse for this album in a used record shop first, and see what you think of the studio tracks. If you sold your copy 15 years ago because you needed beer money, you will be upset that the remastered version does not have the studio tracks. You will have to hunt down your old vinyl copy again...Four stars because they were still a great live band. To bad their studio tracks after Duke didn't hold up this well. ...

| EXPERT RATING: From AMG Reviews On their third live album (another double), Genesis brought listeners up to date on the trio version of the group and their hit singles from Abacab and Duke. The U.K. version of the album (Charisma GE 2002), despite the title, was an all-live album, while the American version (Atlantic SD 2-2000) had three live sides and a fourth side of studio material, including the Top 40 hit "Paperlate" (which appeared in the U.K. as part of an EP called 3 by 3). - William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide |
