The movie chronicles the adventures of a young girl called Lily, who sets off to visit her lonely Grandpa, but finds herself on a great adventure that leads to a meeting with the world's favorite steam engine, Thomas the Tank Engine, and the magical Mr. Conductor. The trio become involved in a classic good versus evil story that takes place in Mr. Conductor's special universe. At one end is the Island of Sodor, and at the other Shining Time, nestled deep in the Indian Valley. Linking these two worlds is The Magic Railroad. This harmonious world of magic and innocence is put in danger by greed and cynicism. However, Lily and Thomas, with the help of a special dog called Mutt, a young boy named Patch, Mr. Conductor Junior and a host of other colorful characters triumph, bringing the story to its happy end.

    Baldwin was great. Buy it and enjoy it.

    Trust me on this on. Buy it! Baldwin gave a great performance and contrary to a prior post he was having fun. The kids love this movie and it is full of life.Ever notice that people who are the most out of sync with the rest of the world become shrin...ks? Please treat your kids well and give them a big hug every day. That way they will never have to see these modern day brain butchers. Read more Less

    I do not agree with mermaidlady's evaluation of this movie. I think that if your child is "INTO" Thomas and friends he/she will love this video as my child did. Alec Baldwin was outstanding as "Mr. Conductor" and Peter Fonda played his part as a ve...ry sad man well also. If you or your child is not familiar with Thomas and his friends, I could see how you wouldn't think the video was good. Try familiarizing yourself with Thomas and then watching it again. It is a GREAT Movie! Read more Less
