this is another good comedy.ben stiller is my favorite comedian/actor.its funny as hell because everytime ted(ben stiller)almost has a chance with mary something always goes wrong.in the end he ends up winning mary over the other guys that have been stalking her.i thought ted was a little weird too but mary falls in love with him anyway.

No comedy movie had any more out-loud laughs in 1998 than "There's Something About Mary." This movie had the most memorable sight gags, intended in bad taste, but these gas had the ability to keep it tasteful, thanks to perfect timing and high-spirited performances by Cameron Diaz as the promiscuous Mary, Ben Stiller as the bumbling, lovesick first boyfriend who suffered his fate in the bathroom right before the prom, and Matt Dillon as the sleazy private eye also on the trail for Mary. From the opening bathroom scene to Mary's hair-gel trend, you'll have a ball watching this gross-out masterpiece in the tradition of "Blazing Saddles" and "Animal House."

Perhaps I'm old and crochety, but I'm getting tired of the blatant physical humor that passes for comedy in movies today. Watching a guy get bitten in the testicles by a dog, for instance, might have struck me as funny in eighth grade. I expect a little more from movies now. Nevertheless, if you find movies involving masturbation, shots to the groin, or naked old people to be riotously funny, then this is your flick, chief. Enjoy.
