Guitarist and vocalist Charlie Lorenzi began Coronados in 2002 after the breakup of his old band, Killer Dolls. He tapped bassist Marcelo di Gregorio of Ultrasonoros and drummer Alfredo Felitte from Elio Thee Horribles, and the trio's raucous garage punk made waves throughout the South American rock scene before Lorenzi's move to the U.S. put the project on hold. Lorenzi hit "restart" once he and his No Fun label were settled in their new home of Ann Arbor, MI, this time around teaming up with bassist/vocalist Melody Licious (Sirens, Gore Gore Girls) and drummer/vocalist Claudia Leo (Avatars). A 2004 tour of Argentina and Uruguay announced the band's resurrection. In addition to various compilation appearances, Coronados releases included a split LP on No Fun with Brazil's Crow King and the Hardfingers.
