The Wondermints were formed in Los Angeles in 1991 by guitarists/vocalists/songwriters Darian Sahanaja and Nick Walusko, drummer/vocalist Mike D'Amico, and bassist Brian Kassan. They recorded three demo cassettes from 1992 to 1994, which got them a deal with the Japanese label Toy's Factory. Their self-titled 1995 debut on Toy's Factory was re-released in the U.S. on Big Deal and attracted notice in power pop circles for its wide array of classic pop influences.
