In this American remake of the 1977 French farce "Pardon Mon Affaire," Teddy Pierce (Gene Wilder) is a happily married man who gets into hot water when he becomes attracted to a beautiful model (Kelly Le Brock). He begins to pursue the "woman in red" as his married buddies -- who are each unfaithful to their own wives -- cheer him on. Teddy's attempts to woo the model without his family finding out causes some comic confusion -- and making the situation even more chaotic is a female coworker who is attracted to Teddy and begins to pursue him. Also featured is a top-of-the-charts soundtrack performed by Stevie Wonder and Dionne Warwick, including the Academy Award-winning song, "I Just Called To Say I Love You."

Underrated Fare with a Winsome Cast

By Jill Berlin  Jun 3, 2001 | 1 out of 1 found this The Woman in Red (1984) review helpful

"The Woman in Red" may not be one of Gene Wilder's more memorable movies, but here he is one his own without famous cohorts like Mel Brooks or Richard Pryor. He gets to play it all - loving father, dedicated career man, would-be-cheating husband, a ...loyal buddy to his clique of middle-aged juvenile delinquents, and one who just wants a little adventure in his life - and supposedly gets it when the title character walks in to his life. Supporting players sustain the comedy as well, including Wilder's late wife, Gilda Radner, as his coworker who has eyes for him. Read more Less

Gene Wilder and Kelly LeBrock are the best!!!

    By Amy S  Nov 29, 2001

Gene Wilder as the director in this film is the best. Him and Kelly LeBrock light up the screen. With a supporting cast like Gilda Radner, Michael Huddleston, and Charles Grodin you can't lose. I suggest you go out and rent this movie right away!!...! Read more Less
