The Movie Is Great!

If you love musicals, you will surely love "The Wiz" movie. It features some of America's most talented actors. Just love Diana Ross. Also, Michael Jackson, Nipsey Russell, Ted Ross, Lena Horne, and Mabel King were sensational. This is a great movie to buy children. If you haven't already seen it, you have to. It gets an A+.

oh my gosh!!!!! that movie was so good and it bring me back so much memories because we did a play on it in 2nd and 3rd grade!!! it also haves good songs to! i wish i had the movie rite now!!! i would watch that movie day and night morning and afternoon afternoon until dawn! i mean that move is way better than the wizard of oz! im sorry to say but that movie wasnt so great and it looks way more older that the wiz so it just messed up everything but the wiz on the other habd was a great movie!!!! if i get my hands on that movie i will watch it until i hate it! wich is never!!!!! haaaaaa!!! i just cant stop talking about the wiz oh my gosh!!!!! i go crazy over that movie and im just so excited! i have soooooooooooooooooooooooo much to say but i dont want to go over my limit!!!!

This is possibly the best adaptation ever. As an adult, I understand the powerful messages in the movie even more than when I first saw the movie as a child. The entire cast is wonderful and this is a Quincy Jones masterpiece. This is a MUST see for every African-American child and adult.

The Wiz is a well done film and musical! I am just 26 and remember "ease on down the road" from somewhere way back in my past. The film is a modern day classic musical, featuring dazzling sets, great colors, and a great cast. The DVD feature a great Dolby Digital recording, and an inspiring set of songs and cast. The now late Richard Pryor and Nipsey Russell give splendid performances and to hell with "Diana Ross is too old to play Dorothy" Didn't Warner Bros just do Alexander, with Angelina Jolie as Colin Farrels mother? Anyhow, check it out, and check it loud, its great!

THIS IS THE VERY BEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN. IT HAS MY FAVIORT SINGER IN IT MICHEL JACKSON. I HAVE THE MOVE ON DVD. I WATCH IT EVEY DAY. I AM A BIG FA OF MICHEL JACKSON AND I WILL WATCH THIS MOVIE THEN ANY OTHER THING I LOVE TO WATCH.THIS MOVIE COME FIRST. GRADE A IN MY BOOK.

Man..I love this damn movie...period. Probably the scariest movie I seen as a child aside from Halloween and The Shining.

The movie "THE WIZ" is pure MAGIC. When it first came out in the 70's the critics couldn't wait to crucify it because DIANA ROSS had the leading role as DOROTHY. The critics didn't even look at how extraordinary the film was. All they took notice of was how DIANA ROSS was supposingly too old for the part. HOW IGNORANT, STUPID and UNFAIR that was. As the movie THE WIZ ages, people are starting to see how wonderful and special this film really is. DIANA ROSS IS THE PERFECT DOROTHY and her performance was easily worth an ACADEMY AWARD nomination. The chemistry between the colorful characters was ABSOLUTE MAGIC! As the years pass and the movie THE WIZ continues to hang around, generation after generation will come to love and adore this film. The movie THE WIZ was way ahead of its time. Where in the world could you find a big budget Hollywood musical film featuring an ALL STAR BLACK CAST in the 70's? NOWHERE, until THE WIZ came along. THE WIZ opened doors for African American films and continues to inspire people with its important messages of hope, believing in one's self, determination and love. Another thing about THE WIZ that was way ahead of its time were the special effects genius director SIDNEY LUMET used in the film. The magic Sidney created in THE WIZ helped pave the way for the big budget fantasy films of today. I personally think that when the WIZ first came out, the white critics were ready to BASH IT because it was an all star black musical, something white Hollywood had never seen before. Also, I think the African American community bashed it because they felt that the role of DOROTHY should have gone to singer/actress STEPHANIE MILLS who originated the part on Broadway. Well with all that said, it's easy to see why THE WIZ flopped at the box office. People simply dogged the film on their own "PERSONAL DISLIKES" instead of excepting the film for the great film it is. It was PURE JEALOUSLY AND RACISM from the HOLLYWOOD COMMUNITY and BLACK PEOPLE have always had this LOVE/HATE relationship with Miss. Ross dating back to her days with THE SUPREMES - thanks to ENVIOUS background singer MARY WILSON and OTHERS. Anyway, now that the years have gone by THE WIZ has become a must see perennial film much like the original film "The Wizard of Oz" starring the late Judy Garland. The success THE WIZ is finally getting now only proves that the DIRECTOR, DIANA ROSS and the entire production team DID MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS!! I recommend this film to everyone. It's a must see fantasy extravaganza that will live in your heart forever....MUZEEKIAN22

That was the wierdest movie that I have ever seen. I remember it giving me nightmares. I dreamt of those damn spring like creatures chacing me everywhere. Mike was cool before the 30th nose job but this movie Was Wierd from the start!

I have been looking for this movie for YEARS now! I can't believe it was this easy to find it after coming to yahoo! I'm so excited I can't wait to get my copy. I have asked friends from all over the world if they would they pick up a copy of this movie if they just happened to run across it and noone has ever seen it. This has to be the most unattainable movie in history. I'm 27 tyrs old and I still love this movie as much as I did when it first came out in 1978! Everyone should be able to experience this movie at least once in thier life time!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my nastalgic heart!!!! Sincerely C. Lofton from Jacksonville N.C.

I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND THIS MOVIE EVERYWHERE MY BOYFRIEND TOLD ME THIS MOVIE WAS IN A VAULT. I'M TWENTY YEARS OLD AND I STILL ENJOY THE MOVIE LIKE I'VE NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE. MY DANCE TEACHER WAS A DANCER IN THE MOVE. HE TEACHES AT DE ANZA COLLEGE.
