Alain Berliner directs this absurdist comedy, part of the 2000 SEEN BY... series, wherein eight directors were asked to film their visions of the dawn of the new millennium. Taking place in Belgium, where there is a serious division between the nation's Flemish speaking population (Flemings) and its French speaking population (Wallonians), the film begins on December 31, 2000, when a young Wallonian man who operates a French fry wagon takes a beautiful Flemish girl to a New Year's Eve party. When the pair wakes up, a wall has been built that divides the country into Wallonian and Flemish territory, and it runs right down the middle of his French fry wagon. In danger of being caught by Flemish authority, he must find a way around the wall, which seems to allow love to pass through.

Pros: parts of it was funny

    Cons: it was too graphic

I like the movie the wall because it shows what the war was like for those in the war and those outside the war.In the begining of the movie it shows what it is like on the base for the people who live there and how the wounded and dying soldiers tha...t returned from vietnam effected those who take care of them. THe middle story showed what the family felt when their son/grandson died and how it hurt them. Also the movie the wall shows and tells the feelings of the sodiers who extended their tours and why. when a soldier extended his tour three years because so he can take care of his group and whoever is new that comes along. The movie really touched me. and so now i would like to thank everybody who made, directed, played, etc. and im going to interview a vietnam veteran and write a paper about them, for my US history class.
