Coming of age for Hayley Mills.

Pros: Mills and MacArthur made a delightful 'couple'.

Cons: Would have liked to see more of the father-daughter relationship.

What can I say about a movie that has become one of my 'all-time' classics? I first came upon this delightful movie while attending junior high school, during the presentation of "movie day" (done on a week-by-week basis at that tim...e), and have never been the same since. You could tell that Sir John Mills' relationship with his daughter Hayley was a truly solid one, which became very visible during the viewing of the movie. Her 'relationship' with a young James MacArthur (Danny Williams in 'Hawaii Five-O') was so much fun to watch, and very 'tender' in the way they played off each other. Sadly, movies like this are no longer made these days, and with some of the language used not only in Hollywood, but off screen as well, I can understand why. Since it's not 'yet' available on VHS or DVD after 44 years, perhaps it will 'reappear' on one of those cable stations that are pretty good at showcasing movies like this from year to year?
