Synopsis: The Trial of Billy Jack (1974)

Synopis: Billy Jack is a half-Indian man who fights bigotry and injustice with stunning martial arts skill. THE TRIAL OF BILLY JACK (the third film in the series) has the half-Indian philosophizing crusader going on trial for crimes he previously committed. The story is told in flashbacks, which depict Billy Jack taking action against child abuse, the trampling of Native American rights, illegal FBI wire-tapping and subterfuge, the My Lai massacre, and more. The Billy Jack movies were extremely popular at the box office because they resonated with the youth culture in the early 1970s. They were a labor of love for director Tom Laughlin, who believed strongly in Jungian philosophy (evidenced in the character Billy Jack's moral underpinnings in the film) and allegedly financed the making of the films himself.
