a good remake version ! what's not to LOVE abt Rene` and Pierce ? Good plot, good scenes, structure, context, smooth sailing all the way! Rene` and Pierce at their BEST. Undoubtedly a classy and tasteful movie.

what kind of idiot judges a movie by whether a character says "Jesus Christ"? is the only relevant question whether a movie is good "family entertainment," i.e. suitable for viewing by 3-year olds and their embarrassed parents?

More action and less nudity would have made this remake even better. There was an obvious lack of chemistry between Russo and Brosnan. The best scenes were between Russo and Leary whose intense, but unintentional chemistry seemed to improvise for the action scenes.

This is a must see for any Pierce Bronson fan. I found this movie very entertaining. I can't wait for it to come out in VHS when I will snap it up ... hot off the presses. Some remakes are good!

Rene Russo badly miscast in this
remake of the original classic with
Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, but
otherwise pretty good.
For DVD viewers, good news! If you've
got an ordinary 25" or 27" set, or
something along those lines, the DVD
is available with BOTH the fullscreen
AND widescreen versions on the same
disk. This means the movie can be
enjoyed on both those ordinary size
screens and in widescreen on a really
big set of, say, 50" or so.

I saw the 1968 movie, this one was completely different. Russo was wonderful as always and the story was very smart and well thought out. I never guessed the ending.

I went to see this movie last year and I found it entertaining, without all the unnessesary violence that so many other movies seem to have these days.
From beginning to end I enjoyed it.

Although I haven't seen the original, this one is horrible. Russo looked like she should have been in a coffin. The heist at the beginning of the movie had almost no credibility...and it was the small things that upset me: A helicopter that size has a much larger useful load than 400 pounds. (try 3000lbs) How did he get that stretched canvas into that briefcase again? It was a nice scenario ruined by simple flaws. They could have thought those out a little more to make them believable....then perhaps I would have at least stomached the rest. Acting over all was below average.

Has several sequences which are appealing. However, there are stretches in the film that move very slow. Acting was good (not great). Worth a rental, not a buy.

Russo a perfect for the role- a real woman not a young girl.
Pierce as always charms you with those eyes and that accent.
A perfect match for each other as were their characters.

Russo's performance was not up to her usual standards. She seemed uncomfortable trying to copy the siren of the original movie. The costumes were over done. Who would really dress like that in a police station. And what was that black and white dress?
