Synopsis: The Thing (1951)

    Cons: Almost paid too much somwhere else and that's a fact

    We compared prices on this DVD with www.USdvdMonster.com and found in most all cases when you add shipping cost USdvdMonster.com was less expensive. USdvdMonster.com only charged us $1.58 to ship compared to a $3.50 charge or more at all other Intern...et stores we compared. I whole heartedly recommend trying that website. We buy DVDs weekly and with my research www.USdvdMonster.com has the best overall prices on the Internet when you add shipping costs to the total purchase amount.     Never mind that piece of junk John Carpenter did in the early Eighties...the original Thing (From Another World), made in 1951 and directed suspensefully by Christian Nyby, uses crisp and intelligent dialogue that mixes beautifully with the movie'...;s moments of horror and humor. A great cast helps to make this masterpiece of the xenophobic Fifties far superior to the remake that relies on exploding bodies and the other various slime special effects that were becoming popular at that time.
