    This show is by far the best thing ever to grace my eyes in a long time. The storyline, the actors, the director, all come together and make this the best cop drama on tv to this date. Forget NYPD Blue or anyother "spin-off" this is your la...st stop in the quest of great cop tv shows. Thank god there is still some good directors and writers out there that can still make something as good as this. Read more Less

This realistic portrayal of police detectives in the fictional city of Farmington is thrilling and enlightening.     'THE SHIELD' is in a class all its own!

    Pros: The actors seem as if they have worked together for years.

    Cons: That this show was so long in the making.

    Many people thought that FX had gone too far when adding 'The Shield' to the listing of their shows. I think it was a GREAT idea to try a show that pushed things to the max. People can love it or hate it. Either way, it took guts to make a sh...ow like this and the only thing better than the show, is watching the show on this DVD set. BUY IT!! You'll be glad you did.     They can't start the season quickly enough for me-never have seen such an almost eerie turnaround in character-Micheal Chiklis-the award could not have gone to a more deserving actor. His portrayal of Vic Mackey is SPOOKEY!! The show is so tensio...n filled that am left feeling like a wrung out dishcloth at the end of it-also want to state that reruns of "The Shield" in the summer months are way above anything else thats on, even better that CSI, and that's going a long way!
