The Swinging Cheerleaders (1974) (Collector's Edition - Letterboxed)

This classic drive-in exploitation gem directed by the great Jack Hill (COFFY, SPIDER BABY), is loaded with clever dialogue, strong characterizations, and plenty of action. Radical reporter Kate (Jo Johnston) decides to infiltrate the cheerleading team and expose female exploitation on campus, but instead she finds she actually digs the football scene, especially stud quarterback Buck (Ron Hajek). Unfortunately this angers Buck's girlfriend, head cheerleader Mary Ann (Colleen Camp), and Kate's sleazy radical boyfriend Ross (Ric Carrott), who gets even by raping one of the cheerleaders (Rainbeaux Smith). Mary Ann's dad, the dean of the school, is meanwhile embroiled in a plot to "fix" the big game, along with the coach, and a black professor (Jason Sommers) who is having an affair with another cheerleader (Rosanne Keaton, one of Playboy's first black centerfolds). With an exciting climax, and plenty of sex, violence, drama, and comedy, this little trash classic scores an exploitation touchdown, providing plenty of goofy thrills without insulting its viewer's intelligence.
