movie of the decade
Pros: unpredictable

if there is a movie that i would recommed for you then it would be this one. the "sum of all fears". personally, i think that the reason for choosing this as the heading of the movie is the following quote by winston churchill:
"why, you may take the most gallant sailor, the most intrepid airman or the most audacious soldier, put them at a table together- what do you get?
THE SUM OF THEIR FEARS"
absolutely fasciting with alot of twist and suspense within the movie. i can tell you that the only negative thing about this movie is that it was short. i have read the actual novel and there is just too much in it. the film is sort of the short version of the novel. despite this it presents many of the underlying themes with minor alterations.
what makes this even more thrilling is the fact that the movie was released at a time in which the US was preparing to launch a war against iraq which has made it the number one movie of the season, if not the century. such a thing is to be expected especially from someone like tom clancy who has fascinated us with all of his other novels including "the hunt for red october". if you want to rent a video this holiday, then "the sum of all fears" is the one,and you can take my word for it.

I thought the cast of the sum all fears was a very interesting choice. Making the star Ben Affleck a hero in a way that I've never thought he could be because he's usually in a romantic comical role that adds humor to drama.
I thought Morgan FReeman and Liev Shriber very good in their supporting roles. The whole show had events that were full of action, no bordom could take place with explosions going off.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoThe Sum of All Fears

The Sum Of All Fears is a really good film but it is really scary to think of what could happen in this day and age. Someone could actual do that and it is really frightening to think about. In the film Baltimore was gone in a second and it was to later to do anything about it. Imagine that it really happened, it was so scary because all of a sudden it was gone. Say that it happened in Ireland, half of it would be gone and the other half would be in ruins. The film was really good but it is scary not like horror but real life.

This movie was good in terms of how it was well directed and told but in terms of action...nope! This is one boring movie to watch. The scene were the nuclear bomb is detonated in Baltimore was pretty cool but it was too short. The features aren't that all great either. Just rent the movie, don't buy it.

Everyone seems to have forgotten that the Jack Ryan films started with Alec Baldwin in Hunt for Red October. However I think all three Actors portrayed the character well. This movie was a bit confusing in that it jumped out of sequence back to Jack's early career, but enjoyable all the same.

This movie is nicely put together. The performances by James Cromwell and Morgan Freeman are pretty good. I was not bored by this film. The movie combines a thought movie with an action movie. Definately something to watch if you are a Jack Ryan fan.

Was an awesome war-thriller, but I was frustrated when Morgan Freeman died, I thought he was going to live till the end.
Awesome performance from newcomer Ben Affleck, portraying Jack Ryan,and you can't be hard on the actor. They say his next performance for Red Rabbit, based on a Tom Clancy novel as well, will be oustanding as well.Was this review helpful? Yes - Nooverrated
Bad story, poorly put together, bad ending. The only good thing about this movie was Morgan Freeman, and he died in it.

This movie, first of all, continues to show Tom Clancy's work with the pen. It has a great but believable plot. Morgan Freeman is the true star of this movie. The movie starts out slow but with help from Freeman and Afflac, it takes off quickly. It provides a policial suspense that Clancy is so famous for. Ben doesn't quite measure up to Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan, but he does, in my mind, protray a good young Jack Ryan here. Overall, a great movie

Despite a slow start in the first hour, this movie really picks up dramatic steam. It is a real thoughtful, suspenseful film that will have you thinking long after its over.Acting wise- Affleck seemed a bit inmature in the role of agent Ryan. The rest of the cast though is great.A must see film.
