    Beautiful movie: good acting, costumes, nice story. Worth watching and owning it. I wish it is on DVD.

    If you had a book report on the bible, specifically the book of Ruth, and watched this movie instead of reading the book, you will surely get a C (averaged of D for plot faithfulness and B+ for imiginative plot). It shows how Ruth became to be the w...ife of a Jew from her pagan beliefs, for which all the male members of his family dies. She follows her mother in law, falls in love with her relative, Boaz, who at first despises her for her heritage, but falls in love with her kind nature. And of course there is always a rival, another relative who has the right to claim Ruth for himself (the law of the land). He also likes her for her beauty but later despises her for her heritage. For this reason he relents his right to Boaz. Since it was a story on the bible, we also have the prophecy of great thigs to happen. It has a happy ending.Enjoy Read more Less
