Sopranos Season 1
Pros: Authentic Mafioso Drama
Cons: Not Long Enough!
The Sopranos is the best drama ever. No TV show has come close to this one in depth and character development. The first season is hardcore, and we get to see Tony and Christopher in their element. A must-buy.

F'n awesome. I wish I could be part of the Soprano home. Watch this plus the second and third season and you will never watch any other mob show. Soprano's is the standard for HBO! Hope that sounded good...

this series dvd is going for way too much money. So i took a trip downtown to canal street. There are several vendors that will sell a season for $15 and that is more than enough for a television series.

i saw this set befor i ever even saw any other episodes from the series. i was impressed to say the least... other than the lack of behind the scenes material this was my best dvd purchase this year.... i highly recommend it.

I love every single episode of the Sopranos. One thing that is a little boring on this DVD boxset is the interview. I wish they had more Special Features like behind the scenes, interviews with actors, and other fun stuff that can connect the viewers with actors and the production environment.

I only caught one or two episodes on TV so I wasn't too sure if I would like this boxed set. When it arrived I put in the first DVD and began to watch, when I looked at the clock at was 4:00 am. This is truely unmissable, if you enjoy good drama with a hint of comedy and more then just a hint of violence...then this is a must for your collection.

Once again, HBO has set the precedent for dramatic series production. You'll find your favorite character in no time in this series revolving around a "family" of "businessmen" that will keep you waiting and anticipating every week for more. The best character development that's come around for QUITE awhile.

The Sopranos is the BEST series I have ever seen. Each character is devoloped into an ever evolving individual genius. The show is genuine, and always reveling of emotions. Even the tough guys have their baggage. If only the real world could take off their Mask once in a while...

An eye-opening look at a world most of us know absolutely nothing about. I watch these episodes over and over, and find something new every time. The DVD collection is worth it for the audio commentary alone--the dialogue between David Chase and Peter Bogdanovich as they review their first episode is truly enlightening, especially if you're into learning things that the run-of-the-mill HBO viewer wouldn't know about. This type of thing is typically only found on DVD versions of major movies. A+

It is what started it all. The raw creative force behind a new way of presenting an old theme. Everything from the soundtrack to the bizarre allegorical plot.

Don't pay any attention to anyone who gives this one star. Calling this just another mob flick shows their ignorance. This series has so many more dynamic aspects of mob life that have never been considered or portrayed in any other production. I admit that I wasn't a diehard fan after the first couple episodes but as you delve into the Soprano family you become totally addicted to their lives!

The series is the BEST so obviously the DVD/VHS is going to be GREAT too. On DVD there are several extra features that are good to have. Cast and producer interviews as well as select scenes.
If you love the series you have to have the box set.

The late Nancy Marchand prompted me to buy The Sopranos-The Complete First Season as well as missing the show on Sunday nights. I never cared much for violence and murder but this series is unique. Nancy Marchand's portrayal as Tony's mother is acting at its best. She was simply marvelous. I also appreciate the dark humor.

Incredible! I grew up with a few "wiseguys" in Brooklyn in the 1960s. Believe me, this is reality TV. The family life, and the "Business", its all there, with acting so real, you'll think you're part of the family. These people are seen as the truly screwed up personalities they are. Incredibly funny and tragic at the same time.

Great Writing, Great Performance. I don't know what the mafia is really like and I don't give a @#$&. This has nothing to do with reality but everything to do with taking an old American story and refreshing it with great talent.
