Enter Cinderella, who, after being granted one night of happiness by her fairy godmother, meets and falls in love with the prince at a ball, but, of course, has to leave before midnight, leaving the prince with only a glass slipper as a clue to his new love's identity. This often overlooked musical has many ardent fans as well as lyrics and music by the famed duo who brought you MARY POPPINS, THE JUNGLE BOOK, and CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG.

    Pros: Excellent cinematography, some catchy songs

    Cons: Unfortunately, the minor characters (the king, the prime minister, the fairy godmother, the obnoxious cousin) were the best parts.

    Notwithstanding, this is my favorite Cinderella movie, and I have seen quite a few. I like it better than Rogers and Hammerstein's movie rendition, and visually, it is stunning, both in the scenery and in the clothes. The dance numbers reminded... me of 1776, which is a good thing. I would give this movie a thumbs up. Read more Less

    Being a guy, chick-fliks are not big on my list. However, this movie was great fun. I first saw it in college. The girls loved it, and they brought it back every year I was there, and I always took a girl to see it. When I found out it had come out o...n DVD, I couldnt resist.
