The Sims™ 2 is the first entirely-new generation of The Sims, the ground-breaking game that allowed players to create and control people.

The Sims 2 challenges you to direct the journey of your Sims' lives as they grow from infancy through childhood, teenage life and adulthood.

Starting with a personality that you give them (or that they inherit from their parents), your Sims will develop in unique ways based on your choices and influence.

As they progress through life, your Sims will collect memories which shape who they are, what options they have and how they behave. These experiences can have a short or long-term effect on relationships between family members and friends. Experiences between Sims when they are children can affect their relationships as teens and adults. Your Sims can have casual friendships or make life-long enemies.

Your Sims live in a realistic and vivid 3-D world of your own creation. When you build their homes, you'll have new options that will allow you to create decks, attics, and build on hillsides. You'll be able to choose from hundreds of new objects, many of which can be customized from within the game. And once you've built the perfect home, you'll be able to zoom in close to see every detail of Sim life, from the food in the refrigerator to the expression of moods and feelings on your Sims' faces.

Rounding out the experience, The Sims 2 delivers dozens of features requested from fans over the past four years. A new "Create-A-Sim" feature will allow you to easily make unique and detailed character faces with a variety of hair styles, facial hair, make-up and accessories. You'll also be able to choose from a wide selection of casual, formal, cool and crazy clothing styles. And carrying on the tradition of giving players the ability to customize their game, The Sims 2 is designed to allow players to easily integrate content created by players outside the game.

Prepare to experience the wild ride of life through the eyes of your Sims in 2004.

    The Sims 2, Oh my...

I have played the Sims, I have bought all the expansion packs. I loved it! But there's always been something missing, some sense of reality, something that, if a game doen't have it, it's mundane and 2-dimensional. The Sims 2 looks to alm...ost certainly have 'it'.The graphics look incredible. They are totally 3d, and easily rival other high-graphics games like the gorgeous 'Homeworld'. The Sims are muchmore realistic in both appearance and actions. With DNA and face + clothes creation/editing tools, anything is possible. Hundreds of little features I have heard about just add together to make it so much the game that 'The Sims' almost was. It's incredible, and February 2004 just seems too far away to be real. The Sims 2, Oh my... Read more Less

    Pros: Maxis

    Cons: no-cons

Real release Date: September 14,15, or 17 Description: The sims2 basically lets you do everything you can do now, in real life. Example: Now you are able to get pregnant and have them ( no one knows how you have them because Maxis hasn't told any...body, listen to this review and you will know the REAL information givin by Maxis themselves ). Everytime you celebrate your birthday or your kids birthday, you and your kids will become older. Babies: you are now able to have infants, and now you can finally take them out of their carriage and throw them in the air and catch them safely ( they might throw-up after being thrown up in the air ), wash them up and change their diapers, and you can teach them how to walk and talk. Every birthday ( using the birthday cake ) celebrated will allow your infant to grow into a toddler or child. Note: I'm not quite sure about this, but you or the game will be able to mix the kids genes once you have them and you will see that they look like their parents. Kids/ Teens: kids and teens will have different options. I'm not quite sure what social options kids might be able to do, but they will be able to do much more things than the other sim games. Teens will be able to go to clubs ( based on a screenshot I saw from websites about the sims 2 ), throw parties as well as have sleep overs ( so will kids be able to have sleep overs ), babysit their little brother or sister, experience their first kiss, and be able to write in their diary ( so will kids be able to write in their diary ), also teens will be able to get arrested. Note: Kids and teens will be able to have weekends away from school and will be able to think in their regular beds as well as read or lay back on the couch. Also, teens will be able to graduate. Adults: Adults will be able to do many things. They will be able to hire maid and butlers as well as hiring their personal helicopter. Adults will be able to play in their regular beds or on the couch, go food shopping also clothes shopping and shopping for games and dvd movies, go to their jobs, take the family to a resturant, have and take care of their kids, teach their teens skills so when their teens grow up they'll be able to take care of themselves, play wit their babies and change them also wash them up and feed them, drive places ( I think, I'm not sure ), go jogging, go to the gym, and much more. Note: Everytime you celebrate a sims birthday ( using the birthday cake ). Also, when your sim gets married they will be able to have the REAL wedding and exchange rings ( you will be able to the ring on their hand or fingers too ). Elders: Elders will be able to do the same things adults wil be able to do ( I'm not sure they will be able to have kids ), also male elder sims will try flirting and touching the body of a female sim. Note: They will die of old age now. Click here: The Sims™ 2 Read more Less
