Users found this Scarlet Pimpernel review helpful This is the best Scarlet Pimpernel there is (except for the book, which you must read). This film combines two of the Scarlet Pimpernel books and does a good job at it. It does take a few turns from the book, but it is so well done you don't really care. The acting is great. Andrews portrayal of the Pimpernel is wonderful. The other actors also do a wonderful job. The costumes and makeup are lovely. I also like that is fairly clean with little swearing and sweet love scenes. They are careful in showing the scenes of beheading. There is little blood, enough to make the point. I love just about every scene and hate to skip any of it (although the scenes with Andrews in them are my favorites). This is a must see if you are a Pimpernel fan. ... -

This is a great movie--one of my very favorites. It is exciting, romantic, and clean. I have watched it with my young children, although the subject matter regarding the French Revolution and beheadings is pretty grim.
