A good movie, if you like one liners
Although not as serious as Terminator or Predator. Arnold loads this movie with plenty of memorable one liners. This movie has good action & dialog lifting my rating from a 3 to a 4. If you want action & laughs w/your Arnold, then this is the movie you need to watch.

The movie and book (written by Stephen King under a another name Richard Bachman)was about a futurist world where a military captain (Arnold) framed for a crime and ends up being sent to a death match TV show. Richard Dawson is the villian in his movie debut. If you like WWF, there are some of the old wrestling superstars in the movie. Jessie Ventura and several others. Maria Conchita Alonso (famous South America singer and actress) also is in the movie. The

We always knew Arnold couldnt act. But he is cast in the movies which take full advantage of this and turn them into blockbusters. This is not one of them. It was ok but I expected better (Like Total Recall....Horray!)

1st of all, I must state that I'm a huge Schwarzenegger fan. But having read the book "The Running Man", by Stephen King, I was VERY disappointed. The film-makers took an action packed, intelligent story, and managed to turn it into a freak-show filled with cinematic cliches.
The framed-cop story is already chewed to the bone. The set is childishly built. And the good guys - they are just clowns.
Of course - there is action, which is afterall, a must for any Arnold film, and why we still rush to see him; But - this time, there is zero intelligence behind the action.
Pick any Schwarzenegger movie. Just not this one. (If you ask for my recomendation: "Last Action Hero", "Terminator", or "The Sixth Day")Was this review helpful? Yes - NoOne of Arnold's best 80's movies
The movie is Cool. For being an earlier Arnold movie its definantly good. The action is near constant and the stalkers remind me of WWF wrestler if they had weapons. It isn't tacky though, so feel safe about buying this one right off the bat.
