Fun for All!
I watched this movie for the first time on a 6 hour plane ride, and can say not too many movies in flight can be still called great movies!. I treated my entire family to this movie the next time, and not too many 8 and 6 year olds will sit glued to a 2 hour film. We even watch the special feature with Jim Morris narrating the true story! (which the film accurately portrays.) My daughter summed it up best when she said.. "I felt like baseball was a game for everyone, after seeing this movie".
An inspiration to all of us. Thank you Jim Morris for your grit and determination, and thank you Disney for producing a movie that takes you back to your roots. Please make more like this and see your star shine again!Was this review helpful? Yes - NoGreat Stuff

An uplifting inspirational TRUE story...Finally an EXCELLENT G Rated movie for adults, It was a treat to be able to enjoy a good movie without the barage of profanity one has to put up with in so many of Hollywoods productions (Heads up Hollywood...Most people don't talk like that and don't like to hear it in their movies!)I hope to see many more movies like The Rookie.

This is one of the few "G" live-action movies, and I completely enjoyed this movie. It is a movie that the whole family can enjoy. Dennis Quaid is very likable, and the supporting cast are solid. The movie does a good job of using camera angles, editing, and sound effects, so that you feel he really is pitching 98 MPH. The movie gets hokey and contrived at times, but that is to be expected in this type of movie. I anxiously await buying the DVD.

This movie was an incredible film that is inspiring and entertaining without being the least bit preachy. This movie can be enjoyed by anyone, hence the "G" rating for it (I don't know the last time I went to go see a "G" rated movie). Despite the total lack of sex, violence and obscenity, this movie rises above everything else that is out there. They need to make more movies like this one rather than putting out the formulaic garbage that studios think will sell.
