The Rocco John Group has been playing together as a trio since 1997. Originally called the Rocco John Trio, the group invited trumpeter Michael Irwin to join them in 2006. They are known for playing freewheeling standards and original compositions of the band's leader, Rocco John Iacovone. The Rocco John Group is also the standing musical group for the NYCbased interdisciplinary arts group, the Coalition of Creative Artists.
