Springsteen continues to mature and provide a relative message to his legions of fans. Songs of truth, faith and understanding that still know how to rock. Thanks Bruce - we needed you - and as always you are there! BUY THIS...and reacquaint yourself... with the promise of Bruce Springsteen. Read more Less

Come On Up In The Rising

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 21, 2005

Pros: The BOSS & The E Street Band

    Cons: n/a

In the beginning there was 9/11/01, and while one day The Rising was the roots of life. From the beginning of Lonesome Day to the end of My City Of Ruins. Bruce & the E Street Band will inspire the 2002 Grammy Award winning album will change the atti...tude into a innocently gratitude. My two favorite ones are: the heartwarming pop favorite Let's Be Friends (Skin To Skin) , and the gospel/rock driven Mary's Place. Bruce used to say "Come on up for THE RISING." Read more Less

Maybe I am expecting too much from a record but I only really liked 4 or 5 songs from the CD. For a price of nearly $20.00, I think you need to do better than that. I also thought there was too much about 9-11.

HE IS NOT THE BOSS. HE IS THE BOSS FOR MAKING RECORDINGS WHETHER VINYL, COMPACT DISC OR CASSETTE WHICH YOU CAN JUST DESTROY. THANKS. BRUCE FOR MAKING THESE PLASTIC RECORDINGS FOR THE WORLD TO BREAK.

    Gets better with every listen

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 15, 2003

I've owned this CD since its release date. Unlike "Tunnel of Love" "Lucky Town" and "Tom Joad," all of which took some time to get into, this CD grabbed me from first listen. Is it possible that after so many records Bruce has finally released the qu...intessential BS&tESB record? I used to crank this up, but just recently have been listening to it quietly on head phones. The mastering is genius. Is it possible for a rock album to get even better on lower volume? I am a fan but also I am critical of the Boss. I don't just swallow everything he puts out. And I would say, as a lifelong fan, that this is my favorite Boss album. Not, I haven't forgotten "Born to Run," I just think this is a singular work of art. It's so good. Read more Less

    The Rising

It took me repeated listens but I can finally admit that this is a solid effort. However, it does not really sound like an E Street/Boss effort. It sounds more like another Bruce solo album. What do you think?

    The '02 Comeback!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 18, 2002

I have been listening to this album constantly for 2 1/2 weeks and cannot get over what a classic it will become. A friend of mine was condescending towards Springsteen, so I let him listen to it. He became a fellow believer! The sound is fresh, w...ith plenty of backup by the E-Street Band. The lyrics are first-rate as usual, with little political spin. This is a work that is somewhat like his old stuff but leads in a new direction that current rockers (new and old) will not go. The Rolling Stones could learn from this man on how to make a rock and roll album without selling out your sound. Tom Petty could learn that you do not need to make the same record over and over to please your fans. Springsteen always had moved in a new direction with his music without trying to please the establishment. All his albums have a different feel. This album makes some feel depressed, but I feel that it is uplifting. I liken it to what one reviewer said about learning more from this record than in a month of church. Read more Less
