y the scariest movie that I've seen so far this year, I suspect that a lot of people will be comparing this spine-chiller to the much-ballyhooed THE SIXTH SENSE and you know what...it deserves it! Here's a genre flick with a creepy premise, a creepy story, creepy imagery, a creepy score, creepy atmosphere and just a whole lot of creepiness all around. Nice job, Mr. Verbinski! And it's not your typical "horror movie" either, as much as it is a mystery with plenty of well-developed horror elements intertwined. One of its strongest attributes is that it actually manages to maintain a real deep sense of dread throughout, beginning with its eerie opening sequence, with two girls alone in a house...with a TV set. And by the way, if this movie doesn't give you the willies the next time you walk by a television set and it suddenly gets all fuzzy on your ass, you might just be made of stone. I can just imagine folks watching this flick when it comes out on video, all alone at home, late at night and suddenly...the TV goes grainy! I'd shoot myself in the left temple if that happened to me. So yes, if you love movies that get under your skin, provide many a goosebump, sustain palpable suspense, an intriguing detective story, some boo scares and an engaging lead in an unsettling world...you gotta check out THE RING! If at all possible, try to see it at night with a loved one and expect to feel uneasy throughout and if you're lucky like me...to be deeply disturbed by it all. Naomi Watts, who dazzled the world as one half of the lesbo team in David Lynch's MULHOLLAND DRIVE, proves once again that she's an actress to be reckoned with and that she's here to stay. Looking a lot like her good friend and Aussie counterpart, Nicole Kidman, in several scenes, Watts manages to draw you into her mounting sense of frustration, helplessness and yup, you guessed it...fear!Was this review helpful? Pros: it was hte first horror movie i ever saw!
Cons: i'm the only person i know that thought it was scary.
i had never seen a horror movie before. (except i had seen tremors, but that was stupid and it doesn't count) i know you find that hard to believe, because EVERYONE has seen a million of them, but i never had. i was like 11 i think, and my dad kept telling about this horror movie mom and him saw, he said it was really scary and it reminded him of me (i still don't know why) so one day i finally talk my mom into renting it. she was telling me that it "wasn't all that scary" whatever.
i got SO scared i could not sleep through the night for a week.
and that was about when i started to love horror movies. i still to this day get way more scared than all m friends whenever i see a horror movie. it's funny.

The time i remember was winter's night when i buy this dvd from the local shop in town , when i was buying this i wasnt sure that this will make my time goes smooth but all my Ideas was wrong .. u wont belieave me but this is the only Movie that covers the fear on me for whole 7 nights .. i will Explain more in one of my Blog Post ... For who dont like Horror Movies , ... Stay Out Of This One .

I had seemed this movie about four times and I think it is really amazingly great it scares your pants off; cause you don't know what it is going to happen next.
You have to keep guessing until the very end of the movie when the little girl come out of the well and suppousely dies.
But that it is not the end on the contrary it is only the beginning.
It has a sequal you know.
So watch it.
I totally recommend it

I love this film it rocks so hard. I love it when samara comes out of the tv that's the best bit about it. She's a ledgend in my world haha. The way the video tape was put together it makes me so scared watching it!

Cons: Was more weird than scary.
I rented the movie on DVD and got the full-screen version. That might have ruined the "horror" somewhat, but I don't think it should have. I watched it at night with one light on, and found really nothing scary in it. Sure, the actual tape is kind of weird and creepy, but not really scary. I really don't see why so many people got scared. Also, it didn't really have a plot, except that you watch the tape, and then 7 days later you die. Overall, I'd have to say I'm glad I rented from the library instead of paying to rent it.

i think this movie was excellent and very good quality. i have watched it about 6 times and it was brill. i am 13 now and it did scare me the first time and it still does a bit.
the best bit was when she fell down the well and she gets samara but then her son tells her that it was the wrong thing and that she'll cum back to get them.

at the starting of the movie i thought it wasn't going to be that scary but i was wrong. I almost starting crying that is how scary it was . I thought the girl in well was great she did such a great job for some one that young .People say it wasn't that scary and they are lying maybe they are to scared to even say it that. i hate when people try to act all though going to see these movies and when it is tiime to watch it they freak out !!!I watched it with my friend and she said it was confusing!And she never got the point of The mother making other copies of the film.And how the got to all diffrent places !?
