THE PUNISHER
Pros: Better version than in theaters
Cons: Animated beginning sequence
When I saw this movie in the theater, I thought it was great, but there were some plot holes.
This special edition fills in those plot holes with deleted scenes that help make the story better and more understandable.
I keep wishing that "the Russian" character would have been played by Dolph Lundgren (the original Punisher in the 1980s), but they can't dub him in.
The only thing I didn't like about this was the animated storyboard pre-movie scene where Frank Castle is in the first Gulf War.
Skip past that part, and you will not be disappointed by the movie in its entirety.

this movie was a big let down ,Thomas Jane looked more like a soap opra star than an action hero. The Punisher movie with Dolph Lundgren was much better , If you like the Punisher comic watch the Lundgren movie , if you like action watch the Lundgren movie ,if you like soap's watch the Thomas Jane movie.

Ever since I saw this movie in theaters, I just had to buy it!! It is simply one of the best movies I have seen this year and probably in my life! The video quality of this DVD is VERY well done! The sound takes GREAT advantage of Dolby Digital and is one of the better sounding DVD's out this year! It has a PERFECT amount of special features. Not too many, not too less! It has: Behind-The-Scenes look on the Punisher, audio commentary, deleted scenes, a preview of the Punisher Video Game, a Drowing Pool Music Video and more!!! Overall, if you've seen this movie in the theaters, buy this DVD!! But, if you're an action fan alike, do the same! BUY THIS DVD!!!!!!!!!

Pros: Good acting and story.
Cons: Too short and some corny dialogue.
I'm a big fan of The Punisher comic, so I will be the first to admit I am bias. But when I left the theatre, I was overall very pleased, as a Punisher and movie buff.
I thought Tom Jane portrayed The Punisher very similar to the comic, although he is small compared to the comic book Punisher. He made me feel sympathetic to his character,and I was very satisfied with his performance. Travolta was good, although some of the dialogue did make me groan. The supporting actors were also fine.
Overall, action scenes were staged well, and the music fit the tone of the movie.
If you are looking for a good movie with fine performances and action sequences, you can't go wrong with The Punisher.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoGreat title

Okay, my favorite comic is "The Punisher." I've been fan for over 10 years and it was great to see the character finally portrayed right. Unlike the Dolph Lundgren version (so bad it went straight to video), this movie was faithful to the actual Punisher origin story from the "Year One" series. It also includes excellent material from "War Zone" and Garth Ennis' "Welcome Back Frank."
This movie has everything. Romance, humor, and hardcore action. Don't expect Shakespeare, but if you want to have a fun night at the movies, check this out.Was this review helpful? Yes - No
