Pros: Lundgren's Voice Sounds Cool

Cons: This movie is not about The Punisher

I have the whole mini and regular series of THE PUNISHER. And this script must have been pulled from someone's *** because the only similarity between this movie and the real Punisher is the name FRANK CASTLE. What happened? I can only guess that... they couldn't get the rights to the name THE PUNISHER untill distribution. Therefore they made up a story that has not relation to the real FRANK CASTLE. It's a lot like the new series of The Punisher, which I think reads more like a Calvin Kline commercial. What happened to artistic integrity? Artistic integrity can't get the foot in the door in productions like this. I can only hope that the new Punisher movie shadows the original Punisher Series in any way, even though they modernized his life in every way (a time piece would have been to difficult to budget?). A new "PUNISHER" movie will come out in a couple of years and I can't wait to see who plays him. The movie should be ten times better than this one with special effects. Dolph Lungren had better movies "Rocky", "I come in peace", "Showdown in Little... Tokyo (with Brandon Lee)", and even as the hero in "Masters of the universe" for kids, though some you may not think so. Read more Less

Lundgren has made many forgettable movies, but his is one of his best (along with "I come in peace"). His portrayal of revenge-obsessed Frank Castle, in a takeoff on the Marvel Comics character, is wry, and even dryly humorous. Kim Miyori does very ...well as the obscenely villainious ninja queen. poorly accurate

In regards to this movie, I found that the makers did a poor job converting the comic book to the big screen. The story is totally different as well as dolph lundgren's portrayal of Frank Castle. Anybody who has read the comic book knows the Castle ...was never a police officer. He was in fact an elite military soldier in Vietnam. While on leave, his family was caught in the crossfire of a mob shoot out. His family was killed. After this, Castle went awol and began his one man war against crime. The character portrayed was not near as tough and mean as Castle who rarely relied on help from anybody.The only reason I give this movie two stars is the concept and the mildly entertaining action.
