    Pros: Tony Awards?

Cons: piece of homosexual promo filth

We just wasted $400 for 6 tickets and a lovely afternoon by sitting through this filthy trash of the first Act
    We walked out
No one except a pervert could consider this good

"Today, BROADWAY! Tomorrow . . ."This movie pokes fun at everything. Hilarious acting by all involved. Zero Mostel, Gene Wilder, Christopher Hewitt, Dick Shawn, and the great Kennneth Mars (Inspector Kemp, from YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN) as an ex-Nazi playw...rite.In love with Hitler."The Fuhrer was a better dancer than Churchill, told funnier stories . . . and was great painter. How Mel Brooks Started It All

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 3, 2001

"The Producers" is Mel Brooks landmark movie debut, and today, Brooks' turned this movie into Broadway's hottest plays of the year. Watch Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom con their way into Broadway as producers of a spectacularly bad play that turns up... as a hit. By the way, after a lengthy movie slump, we are ecstatic to see Brooks become the King of Broadway. Welcome back, Mel! We all love you! Read more Less

    a near hysterical, timeless masterpiece

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 28, 2001

A perfect example of superb acting and script to make a superb comedy. See if you spot the very young Joe Pesci in a 5 second appearance.

Most inspired premise in all of comedy.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 3, 2000

It's been said many times of this masterpiece, yet it bears repeating: The Producers just gets funnier every time you see it. The most inspired premise in the history of comedy is brilliantly executed. It belongs at the top of any time capsule. Zer...o Mostel and Gene Wilder are up there with The Marx Brothers and Monty Python as the greatest comedy team ever assembled. New lines and bits to love on your fiftieth viewing: Zero Mostel bouncing out of the elevator in the director's house. Rewind the hell out of it, it's a one and a half second piece of physical genius. "Hitler, now THERE was a painter; he do could an entire apartment in one afternoon, TWO COATS!" "Will dancing Hitler's please exit the stage-we're only seeing singing Hitler's today." And many, many more! If you've only heard about this film but never experienced it, rent it tonight! If you've only seen it once or twice, rent it tonight-you'll enjoy it more than ever before. I wish I had been more eloquent in my review, but I can only gush. See it and let it speak for yourself. If I could, I'd wear a cardboard belt, in homage. Read more Less

    Funniest comedy EVER!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 1, 1999

This was the most incredibly funny movie ever... it keeps building and building until the production itself, and then you laugh hysterically for hours after seeing it... I have seen this movie 20 times, but I love it more each time!

I feel this may be ok on a second watch. But the first one is what counts. This movie is pretty boring.
